Meet Our Speakers

She produces and hosts “How Curious,” a podcast that explores listeners’ questions about Oklahoma, like, “Is there really a giant catfish living in Lake Texoma?” and “Why does the state have so many school districts?” Claire previously worked as an intern on the city desk at WBEZ in Chicago. She’s originally from Richmond, Virginia.
Andy Moore is co-host and producer of “Let’s Pod This,” a weekly podcast about Oklahoma politics that is one of the educational programs produced by Let’s Fix This, the nonprofit organization he founded in 2016. In addition to his role with LFT, Andy is executive director of Freedom of Information Oklahoma and administrator of an HIV treatment program at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He received his bachelor’s in psychology and master’s in marriage and family therapy from Southern Nazarene University and his MBA from the University of Oklahoma.
Sheldon Beach has worked as professional librarian for the past 15 years, 14 of which have been spent with the Metropolitan Library System. In the summer of 2017, Sheldon moved into the newly created special collections department, and in November 2018, the Metropolitan Library System’s special collections released its first podcast. Sheldon is the primary writer, researcher, and editor for the podcast, which focuses primarily on Oklahoma history, culture, and literature. He currently lives in Oklahoma City with his wife Dana (also a librarian) and his two dogs, Dolly and Dash.
Emily Tackett is the manager of social media at BigWing, where she leads a team in implementing social media strategies for clients all over the country. Before making the jump to agency life, she ran social media for the University of Oklahoma and was often disoriented on the sidelines of OU football games trying to get the perfect gram. While there, she produced the university podcast, “Just Sow,” and continues to teach social media marketing as an adjunct professor in the Gaylord College of Journalism. She loves living near the Plaza District in OKC and supporting awesome local businesses.
