Marketing, meet-ups, and mingling, oh my! The digital marketing community in Oklahoma City is growing larger and stronger each year. From web development experts to social media mavens and everything in between, this city is ripe with creative, intelligent minds working on behalf of their clients to make the internet a better place.

Take advantage of the resources and relationships this niche community has to offer by joining a meet-up or attending a conference this year.  We’ve rounded up the best of Oklahoma City’s digital marketing clubs and conferences to help you find your best fit.

Digital Marketing Groups in Oklahoma City

OKC Social

For: Social media, marketing, and public relations professionals. OKC Social hosts monthly educational meetings covering a variety of topics, including social media updates and best practices.

“OKC Social allows marketers and small business owners to dive into the finer points of social media marketing together in an environment that’s collaborative. Leaving meetings with tangible takeaways I can put into action immediately makes me feel like I really am getting something for my money,” says President-Elect Kellen McGugan.

Membership: $85 annually, or $10 at the door per event. Partnership opportunities available.

Next event: OKC Social’s next event is June 8 at Dunlap Codding. Come out for a 5:30 p.m. happy hour followed by panel discussion. OKC Social hosts happy hour meetings the second Thursday of every month.

Lift Sessions

For: Digital marketing professionals and small business owners. Develop your digital skill set and take your business to the next level online. Lift brings together marketers and entrepreneurs to learn actionable tips from digital marketing professionals through talks, workshops, and panels.

Membership: None required. Events are open to anyone; however, your RSVP is appreciated.

Next event: Lift Sessions take place at 9 a.m. the third Thursday of each month at BigWing’s office in the heart of downtown.

American Marketing Association: AMA Oklahoma City

For: Anyone who wants to become a more effective marketer. AMAOKC strives to give their members access to the best thought leaders, resources, and best practices available. AMAOKC prioritizes networking and education, hosting monthly Signature Speakers series and Learning Labs (including an upcoming lab on digital marketing), as part of their regular meeting series.

Membership: Summer sale – $30 off new membership. Student and recent graduate discounts also available.

Next event: On June 8, AMAOKC will host a Signature Speaker series event Personal Branding on a Large Scale with Stephen Paul Judd from 11:30 to 1. Also on June 8, AMAOKC’s Marketer of Oklahoma Happy Hour is at Barrios from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Regular monthly programs are the second Thursday of each month at the Will Rogers Theatre from 11:30 to 1:00.

Hubspot User Group (HUG) OKC

For: Inbound marketers. Whether you’re an experienced inbound marketer, just beginning your inbound career, or simply curious about what inbound entails, HUG is for you. HUG OKC meets in person and online to learn inbound marketing best practices and ways to use Hubspot’s inbound software.

Membership: Free/open to anyone

Oklahoma City Ad Club

For: Those in the advertising and communications industry, from PR professionals to graphic designers, event planners, digital marketers, broadcasters, and more. This is Oklahoma City’s longest-running advertising group, with a deep history in the city and roots in the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Ad Club emphasizes networking, education, and service.

“Being a part of Ad Club has helped me understand so much more about the marketing and advertising industry,” said Carter Campbell, Ad Club’s second vice president. “I’ve met many great people, heard speakers from all angles of advertising, and get to attend the annual award show that showcases all the stellar work from our state.” Board member Sarah Hoffman echoes those sentiments. “It’s amazing to be connected to a vibrant community of like-minded professionals,” Hoffman said. “We’re all friends and colleagues that like to have fun while raising money for scholarships and paving the way for future advertising professionals. We take pride in what we do to serve our community.”

Membership: Single, group, and educational rates available.

Next event: OKC Ad Club hosts monthly luncheons at the Jim Thorpe Museum & Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. (free to members, $30 for guests). On July 21, Ad Club will host a golf tournament/scholarship benefit at Lincoln Park Golf Course.


For: A spin-off of Ad Club geared toward young professionals (18-32), Ad2OKC is for marketers and communicators plugged into the OKC community. If you enjoy supporting local businesses, volunteering for good causes, and moving your career forward, Ad2 is for you. As members say, this isn’t networking, this is friendworking.

“Ad2OKC is a wonderful organization to network with your peers and feel safe to freely ask any questions and learn from one another!”  Chloe Cumbie, AD2OKC president, said. “There’s one event per month and it’s a great mix of how-tos, happy hours, and interactive learning.”

Membership: $85 annual membership

Next event: BigWing is proud to sponsor Ad2OKC’s June networking event: June 15, 7:00 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Ad2OKC hosts monthly get-togethers to network and learn from local industry experts.


For: RefreshOKC meets every month to learn and discuss topics related to web design and development. This meet-up is part of Techlahoma’s extensive user group community.

“I’ve gotten to know so many awesome people I wouldn’t have met otherwise, and since we have a wide variety of speakers and topics there’s always something new to learn,” said co-organizer Susan Simkins. “Plus, free lunch!”

Membership: Free/open to anyone

Next event: On June 28, RefreshOKC will discuss Websites With a Purpose at StarSpace 46 at 11:30 a.m.


For: The digital/creative community at large.  DSN+ DEV+OKC welcomes designers, photographers, copywriters, developers, UX experts, graphic artists, agency owners, and anyone who wants to get to know other creatives in the metro area. With a heart of collaboration, this group seeks to build up Oklahoma City’s burgeoning creative community. At each meet-up, the group will hang out, enjoy snacks, and listen to a speaker or two.

Membership: Free/open to anyone

Next event: June 12, 7 p.m.: UX/UI Lightning Round Panel (location shared only with members).

WordPress Meet-Up

For: Users and fans of WordPress. At this group’s meet-ups, members will discuss WordPress updates, best practices, tips, and tricks. New to WordPress? Come learn from the experts! WordPress Meet-up is a friendly group of professionals who want to share what they know.

In 2016, Oklahoma City was a host site for WordCamp, the conference devoted solely to WordPress.  Although WordCamp isn’t coming to OKC this year, you can check out what we learned at WordCamp OKC last summer.

Membership: Free/open to anyone

Next event: Last Monday of each month at 7 p.m. (June location TBD).

Public Relations Society of America

For: The Oklahoma City chapter of PRSA is open to anyone who works in public relations: professional communicators, social media specialists, media relations experts, writers, marketers, graphic designers, and event coordinators. This group loves Oklahoma City, loves teaching others about what Oklahoma City has to offer, and loves supporting the next generation of PR professionals in this city.

Membership: $300 yearly. Scholarships available.

OK Women in Tech

For: Oklahoma Women in Tech (OKWIT) aims to bring together women across Oklahoma’s technology industry, with a goal to bridge the gender gap in STEM fields, even here in our state. Digital marketing is definitely on the more creative side of the OKWIT member spectrum, with many members in more engineering- and science-based fields, but at the heart of all of our careers is a love for technology, a desire to learn, and a mutual goal to advance women in tech.

Membership: Free/open to anyone

Next event: The OKC branch of OKWIT meets the last Wednesday of each month for lunch, happy hour, or coffee. June details TBD.

Oklahoma City’s Digital Marketing Conference
